culturebase.net was initiated by four cultural institutions for the promotion of international art and cultural exchange: the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Intercult, Stockholm, Visiting Arts, London and the Danish Center for Culture and Development in Copenhagen.
Pooling knowledge from several cultural institutions in one database opens up a highly productive form of transnational, interdisciplinary dialogue that helps build a global communication network. The result is high quality portraits from a wide range of contemporary international artists.
