Artist involved in Cultural Exchange
As a transnational cultural player and developer, Dorte Dahlin has participated and initiated several projects. Dahlin curated (and participated in) the major cultural event ”Overlaps. North-Southeast”,at the Sharjah Art Museum, United Arab Emirates, in 2000. This led to Dahlin becoming an official Danish curator and provided the opportunity to introduce "Superflex" by Moonchannel; an internet based tv-studio at the Sharjah V. International Biennial.
In close cooperation with Rector, Dr. Phil. Else Marie Bukdahl, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, she is engaged in the realization of the so-called ”Nomad Academy ”– an ongoing cultural exchangeprogram with the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Her own work can be viewed at the State Museum of Art in Copenhagen and the Aarhus Museum of Art among many others.

Dorte Dahlin was born 1955 , lives and works in Copenhagen. She was educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts between 1978 –82 and became one of the central figures in the break-through of New Image/Wild Painting in Denmark. She is represented at many Danish art museums and in private collections and has recieved several grants . The past 10 years she has been working in the field of site-specific art, sculpting in public spaces in all aspects of the word.
In 1992 Dorte Dahlin worked as an Assistant Professor for architect Daniel Libeskind during the workshop “An Observatory of Premonition”- touching the future of Copenhagen - at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Dorte Dahlin was a member of the Committee for Art in Public Space , dealing with “Art, democracy and the public space”, Royal Academy Council 1996-2000.Dorte Dahlin is also active in cultural exhange, developing the cultural exchange project " Nomad Academy- Five from Afar " together with The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts featuring visual artists from Sharjah (U.A.E)
